"It was a no-brainer for me," Reilly recalls. "I wanted to be there for him, to see him play the game he loves professionally. It was an incredible experience, standing on the sidelines and hearing his name announced in Finnish."

For Gourdine, Reilly's presence in Finland was a powerful reminder of the support system that had nurtured his dream. "It was cool as hell to have someone like Ms. Reilly there," he says. "She's been with me since sixth grade, and her support has been unwavering."
